About Peggy
As a 25-year resident of Alpharetta, Georgia and North Fulton County, I have seen a lot of change. The growth and progress in this area is exciting. My husband and I are beyond happy that we made the decision to become part of this community so many years ago. Our two children were born and raised here, educated in the public school system, and now are successfully navigating the new post-college world (our son) and the last months of college (our daughter).
I have always served the communities of which I have been a part. My professional career started in banking after graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Business, Marketing and Economics. I immediately became involved in civic engagement as a volunteer. After over a decade in banking and finance, I was called to full time nonprofit work and now have my own event planning and fundraising business, raising essential funds for nonprofits all over the metropolitan Atlanta area and beyond.
I have become increasingly involved in the political landscape, starting with Moms Demand Action for Common Sense Gun Laws, which involves working with legislators at the Georgia Capitol. I have also campaigned for progressive candidates over the years. This participation and education has led me to act on what I have always been taught to believe – when you see a problem that you can fix, you must do so. Georgia’s average number of annual deaths from gun violence is the 5th highest of any state in this country, and gun violence is the number one killer of children and teenagers. Georgia’s healthcare system is not meeting the needs of its growing and changing population with 1.4 million Georgians uninsured. Our access to mental health services is near the bottom as compared to other states. Quality public education is essential, and Georgia is struggling to recruit and retain quality teachers. These are just a few issues that I will address and work to change as the next Georgia House Representative, serving the 49th District of Georgia. The area has changed. Our representation needs to reflect that change.
Please see the Issues section of this website for additional information. This represents a sampling of what I intend to fight for once elected to office. My main goal is to promote the overall well-being of all residents of this district and of Georgia – economic opportunity, healthy families, quality education, equal rights – let’s fight for these together!
I welcome any opportunity to talk with voters of the 49th District and learn about your concerns and priorities. I want to earn your vote. Please reach out!
